John Deere recently announced its new lineup for the 6R Series, which includes 14 tractors ranging from 110 to 250 horsepower (82 to 186 kilowatts). The new series features four brand-new models, including the four-cylinder 6R 150 and six-cylinder 6R 185. The tractors have the new, integrated 1-Click-Go AutoSetup system, which makes it easier to adjust tractor and implement settings, lowering the number of required display clicks in the field by as much as 90%. Settings can be preplanned and managed in the cloud. When the tractor crosses the field boundary, the stored profile is automatically available. The system enables anyone, including temporary operators, to be consistently accurate.
Other New Features
New this year is the E-joystick, which lets operators freely configure the layout of the buttons. Direction of travel can be changed easily using the reverser button and a special hand detection system replaces the previous version’s safety flap.
Dynamic weighing gives operators access to the weight of the material in the loader whilst on the move. The Return to Position feature places the loader in the correct position with one click, and Level to Horizon prevents spilling the bucket load. Intelligent Power Management (IPM) delivers additional horsepower in hydraulic applications. The four-cylinder tractors can deliver up to 20 HP (15 kW) and the six-cylinders up to 40 HP (30 kW) when using hydraulic fans, pumps, wrapping balers, slurry tankers, and drills.
Deere reports that it updated the series’ cab as well to increase operator comfort. The dashboard has been removed to improve forward visibility, and settings and indicators are instead provided on the corner post display.
About The 6R 185
This compact, versatile six-cylinder tractor was designed for transport use. The 6R 185 delivers up to 234 HP (175 kW) with IPM in transport, PTO, and hydraulic operations. It has a short 2.76-metre (9-foot) wheelbase, a 6.8-litre John Deere PowerTech PSS engine, and an AutoPowr transmission.
About The 6R 150
The 6R 150 has a power rating of 165 HP (123 kW) or 177 HP (132 kW) with IPM and an increased tyre size with rear wheel options of up to 650/65 R38 available. It has a 2.58-m (8.46-ft) wheelbase, a payload of 4 tonnes (4.4 U.S. tons), and a 155-litre (41-gallon) hydraulic pump.
