Read More (About Pearson)Pearson Engineering (aka Pearson Tractor Implements) is a farm machinery company that sells a range of implements for tractors, front loaders, graders, and effluent handling machinery. Founded in 1970 by Robbie Pearson, the Matamata-based business introduced the Quick-Tach Loader in 1974. The loader won a Merit Award at that year’s National Fieldays trade show, and Pearson regards it as the forerunner to its modern front loaders.
In the lead-up to the Quick-Tach loader, Robbie Pearson applied the experience he gained working on his family’s farm to adapt a front loader he designed years prior. His efforts resulted in three loaders that soon gained popularity and led to the development of the Quick-Tach loader.
Pearson Engineering continued to create new loaders during the subsequent decades to keep pace with changes in tractor design. Over the years, the company added implements, slurry-handling equipment, and other products to its lineup.
By 1981, Pearson had outgrown its original manufacturing site and moved to a larger facility, where it still operates today. After Robbie Pearson’s retirement in 2010, Jason Tidmarsh purchased the business.
Pearson manufactures and sells four series of front-end loaders that include features such as double-acting cylinders and port relief integration in the control valve to protect against overloading. The loaders are also available with a third service kit with joystick control, a shock absorption system, and other options.
The company’s lineup of grader blades includes Mega Grader Blade models designed for use with high-horsepower tractors and handling heavy loads. The Mighty Grader Blade series includes fully reversible variants ideal for track maintenance, backfilling, landscaping, and draining applications. Fork models include pallet, log, big bale, silage, and combo options. Combo forks can handle big bales and silage without changing attachments.
Pearson tractor implements include five hitch types and six buckets, including auger, beet, and high-tip models. Grabs include bucket, high-tip bucket, shear, and silage styles, while clamps include fence and wrapped bale varieties. Pearson also sells standard and heavy-duty grapples constructed with high-tensile Bisalloy steel that the company says is three times stronger than mild steel.
